For those of you who may end up reading a blog or two, I want to just give you a little background of who I am. I grew up in a mid-sized town (35K or so) for the first 18 years of my life and loved it. I love my home town, though I’m not so anxious to go back other than to visit. I grew up in a very musical family that taught me to truly enjoy music. I am a bit of a hacker on the guitar but enjoy playing as often as I can. Currently I am getting to work with the Woodlands Church student ministry bands each week and I am loving it.  We have some talented students. I enjoy just about any sport. I played several sports in High School and now enjoy pick up games any time I can get one going. I am married and have been for almost three years now to a woman who was way out of my league, but God took care of me. All of this forms a little bit of who I am, but probably what most forms who I am is my relationship with Jesus Christ. I came to know Jesus at a very young age as my parents shared who he was with me and why I needed him. I look back now, and though I did not understand everything about Jesus at the time, I know that he called me to himself then and saved me from my sins. I used to think that because I came to Christ so young, I did not have much of a testimony, but after working with students for eight years now, I can definitely tell people of how God extended his mercy and grace to me and spared me from a lot of junk. While my life has been far from perfect, I am continually seeking to know him more and to grow in my understanding of his truth, wisdom, and will for my life. I am now the Associate High School Pastor at the Woodlands Church main campus and get to help prepare the student bands each week.  My middle name is Duke which is what many people call me simple because there are so many other Chris’ on staff and that’s what people in college called me.  Much of what I will blog on from time to time will be based on what he is dealing with me at the time. Please feel free to comment and add any input you may have.
